✨ What to do When Expecting: A Pregnancy Guide ✨

You’re having a baby, now what?

Getting pregnant is so exciting! But it can also be overwhelming about what to do and where to start. Use this checklist to ensure you get everything done in time for baby’s arrival!

In the first trimester, you probably won’t feel too well. Prioritize getting care from a doctor, taking care of yourself and getting rest!

Don’t worry too much about what doctor appointments or tests you’ll need, your midwife or OB-GYN will help out with that.

At the end of your first trimester, consider announcing your pregnancy! I have a post on how to create a pregnancy announcement.

During your second trimester, you’ll start to feel ALOT better, this will probably be the best trimester. That’s why you want to start getting things done, like creating your baby registry, planning your baby shower and decorating the nursery. I also have a post on what you products you’ll need for the first year, so you can include them in your registry and a post on how to plan your baby shower!

You don’t really need to baby proof right away. Babies don’t start crawling until at least 4 months. I personally didn’t start baby proofing until months after I brought my boys home. But people recomend baby proofing during pregnancy because you won’t have as much time or energy once your baby is born!

The third trimester is all about finalizing your to do list and getting ready for birth and when your baby comes home.

During your third trimester, you’ll also typically have your baby shower or gender reveal party. I recommend to write thank you notes right away. I waited until after my boys were born and it took MONTHS for me to write them 🫠

This guide can help you stay organized, but the most crucial things to do during your pregnancy are to get plenty of rest and keep up with your doctor appointments!

... Read moreNavigating pregnancy can be both thrilling and daunting. Here's a deeper look into your pregnancy journey: In the first trimester, prioritize your health by scheduling appointments with an OB-GYN or midwife. It’s also crucial to eat healthily and consider prenatal vitamins. Many expectant mothers choose to announce their pregnancy around the 12-week mark, creating exciting milestones. As you enter the second trimester, you’ll likely experience a surge in energy. This is the perfect time to create your baby registry, thoughtfully plan your baby shower or gender reveal, and even start decorating the nursery. Engage in researching childcare options and explore potential baby names. Important check-ups, including the 20-week ultrasound, should be part of your planning. The third trimester shifts focus to organizing your life for baby's arrival. This includes finalizing your birth plan, picking a pediatrician, and baby-proofing your home. Ensure your nursery is complete and wash all the little clothes you’ve bought. Remember to write thank-you notes promptly after your baby shower—procrastination can lead to overwhelming to-do lists later! Ultimately, your well-being is vital during pregnancy. Make sure to rest, keep up with your healthcare visits, and embrace the support from friends and family as you prepare for this beautiful chapter of motherhood.
