Mom’s Monthly Cheatsheet for an Organized Home🫶
Keeping a tidy home as a busy mom can feel overwhelming, but a simple monthly routine can make all the difference.
Instead of scrambling to clean everything at once, a structured plan helps maintain order with less stress.
Here’s a list of tasks to consider adding to your monthly schedule:
☑ Rotate/declutter kids’ toys & clothes: Donate or store toys and clothes your child has outgrown to keep things organized and make space for what they actually use. Rotating toys also keeps them feeling new and exciting!
☑ Vacuum under furniture & beds: Dust & crumbs build up fast in hidden spots, so taking time to vacuum under furniture helps keep allergies at bay & your home feeling fresher.
☑ Deep clean one area (fridge or closets): Pick one area each month, like the fridge or a closet, to wipe down, organize, and toss out anything unnecessary. This keeps deep cleaning manageable instead of overwhelming.
☑ Wipe down baseboards & light switches: These often-overlooked areas collect dust and fingerprints but take just a few minutes to refresh with a quick wipe-down.
☑ Check expiration dates on food & meds: Go through your pantry & medicine cabinet to toss expired items & make note of anything that needs restocking.
☑ Organize a trouble spot (junk drawer, closet, etc.): Tackle one cluttered space each month—whether it’s a junk drawer, bathroom cabinet, or entryway—to keep chaos from taking over.
☑ Plan a little "me time" or date night: Don’t forget about yourself! Schedule something fun, whether it’s a quiet coffee break, a relaxing bath, or a night out with your partner. A happy mom keeps the household running smoothly!
With the right approach, you can keep your home organized and running smoothly—without it taking over your life!

Maintaining an organized home can be a challenge for busy moms, but a simple monthly routine can ease the burden significantly. Here are some practical tips to consider: 1. **Rotate and Declutter Kids' Toys & Clothes**: Regularly donate or store items your child has outgrown. This not only frees up space but also refreshes their playtime with 'new' toys. 2. **Vacuum Under Furniture & Beds**: Dust and crumbs can accumulate in overlooked areas, leading to allergies. Make it a monthly habit to vacuum under furniture to keep your home clean and safe. 3. **Deep Clean One Area Each Month**: Choose a focus area such as the fridge, a closet, or another space to organize and clean. Breaking it down into smaller tasks makes deep cleaning manageable and less daunting. 4. **Wipe Down Baseboards & Light Switches**: Quick clean-ups of these often-neglected areas can revive your home’s hygiene and aesthetic. 5. **Check Expiration Dates**: Once a month, sift through your pantry and medicine cabinet to remove expired items. This also offers an opportunity to restock necessary supplies. 6. **Organize a Trouble Spot**: Tackle one cluttered area per month — whether it’s a junk drawer or a children’s playroom. Focusing on small spots helps prevent chaos from piling up. 7. **Schedule 'Me Time'**: Remember to prioritize self-care. Whether it’s a quiet moment with coffee or a date night, taking time for yourself can rejuvenate your spirit and improve household dynamics. By incorporating these straightforward strategies into your monthly routine, you can transform your home into an organized, inviting space while managing the demands of motherhood effectively.

I disagree with the once a month thing including the refrigerator. refrigerator should be purged and wiped (not a deep clean) weekly. it's just myself and my husband and ick gets in there weekly. if you choose something new each month, the refrigerator would rarely get done 🙃 to each their own. I just prefer to take 10 minutes weekly to take care of that task.
