why am I addicted to credit cards?

When I say addicted I don’t mean actually spending on them, I’m a pretty frugal person. For the past few months Iv just been so fascinated by the different cards, reward structures, ect. I watch tons of videos of cards I probably will never get. Maybe it’s bringing back my childlike wonder of collecting Pokémon and Yugioh cards? Anyone else feel this way?

... Read moreThe fascination with credit cards often stems from their various reward structures and unique benefits. Many consumers enjoy collecting cards almost like a hobby, similar to childhood activities like trading Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Notably, brands like Chase, American Express, Bank of America, and others provide enticing reward programs that encourage users to explore different offers. Reward credit cards can offer cash back, travel points, and exclusive experiences that cater to diverse interests. For example, American Express offers a variety of cards focused on travel, dining, and everyday purchases, while Chase’s Sapphire and Freedom cards are well-regarded for their robust rewards and flexible redemption options. Bank of America and Discover also have competitive products designed to appeal to specific consumer needs. The concept of reward chasing can create a sense of excitement and engagement, drawing users into the world of credit cards, much like avid collectors. As users learn about different cards, they may find themselves researching and discussing options, which further fuels their interest. In this way, collecting credit cards becomes a blend of financial savvy and personal passion.

It sounds like you’re experiencing a bit of a fascination with credit cards that’s more about the collecting and exploring side of things rather than actually using them for spending, which is a unique form of interest. The way you describe it—similar to collecting Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh cards—makes a lot of sense. Credit
