Are there any other markdown time strategies?
Those little numbers at the end of Costco prices, they're basically a secret clearance language:
PRICE TAG DECODER:
- .97 = Nationwide clearance (think seasonal jackets or snacks)
- .00/.88 = Store-specific manager special (final sale!)
- ✳️ = Last chance item (grab it or it's gone forever)
Other Mind-Blowing Hacks:
- You can shop Costco.com without a membership.
- Kirkland brand = Name brands in disguise (Starbucks coffee, Huggies diapers, Duracell batteries, same factories!)
- The $4.99 rotisserie chicken is Costco's loss leader (shred & freeze for meal prep!)
- Gift cards often have 25% off (Disney, restaurants, spas. Perfect last-minute gifts)
Most importantly, new markdowns drop Mondays, but weekends sometimes have surprise clearance finds. What's your best Costco find? Did you know about these price codes?

wait i’ve been shopping at costco for YEARS and never paid attention to the numbers like that — this is actually genius!
