Have you ever owned something you thought was cool

Back in the day, I was obsessed staying up till 3am refreshing tour dates, spent way too much on merch, even made fan edits (cringe, I know). Their perfect insta posts and “humble” interviews had me convinced they were literally flawless humans. I thought loving them gave my life purpose, they were my escape from real stress.

Then burnout hit. I’d built them up as these mythical beings, when they’re just people. Flawed, messy, probably stressed about their own stuff, just like me. The “magic” was my fantasy, not reality.

Now I still enjoy their work, but the obsession is gone. It’s weird like taking off rose-tinted glasses and realizing the sparkle was all in my head. What’s something you idealized but low-key disappointed you once you had it? A gadget? A hobby?

I was obsessed with designer purses. I have several and I literally never use them. I let my mom borrow them all the time because she doesn’t want to spend thousands on a purse and I don’t blame her🤣 they just sit in my closet.
