How I made a vanity mirror out of $🌲 finds

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share how I brought my dream vanity mirror to life without breaking the bank, all thanks to some amazing Dollar Tree finds. When I first started planning, I knew I wanted something functional, pretty, and most importantly, affordable. This project proved that you don't need a huge budget to create a stunning beauty space. My journey began by collecting the main structural components: those versatile 14 wooden crates. These were truly the backbone of my vanity setup. I stacked them strategically to create varying heights and compartments, forming a sturdy base and side towers for my mirror. It was amazing to see how these simple crates could be transformed into such a solid foundation. Make sure to use hot glue or even small screws if you want extra stability, especially if you plan on storing heavier items. Next up were the 3 floating shelves. These were fantastic for adding horizontal surfaces for my perfumes, lotions, and smaller makeup palettes. I placed them at different levels between the stacked crates, creating an organized and aesthetically pleasing display. Imagine having all your favorite products easily accessible while you get ready! For a touch of sparkle and to personalize the look, I decided to incorporate a roll of silver glittery vinyl. Wrapping some of the crate edges and shelf fronts gave the whole piece a much more upscale and cohesive feel than plain wood. No vanity mirror is complete without good lighting, right? This is where the 6 LED push lights came in handy. I strategically placed these around the mirror (which I got from Hobby Lobby, as my local Dollar Tree didn't have the square one I needed) on the white foam board backing. These little lights make such a huge difference, providing that perfect glow for makeup application. They're battery-operated, so no tricky wiring needed, making the DIY process super straightforward. The white foam board itself served as a clean, bright backdrop and helped secure the mirror within the Dollar Tree frame structure. And what about those 4 picture frames? I used these in a couple of ways. Some became mini-trays for smaller items like lipsticks and brushes within the crate compartments, while others I repurposed as decorative elements, perhaps holding inspirational quotes or photos to make the space truly mine. It's all about how creative you can get with these everyday items. The best part about this DIY project is the incredible sense of accomplishment and the money saved.
