Philippians reminds us to bring everything to God

A faithful follower asked if I could share a simple video on how to pray, so this one is for them. Philippians 4:6 reminds us to bring everything to God in prayer with thanksgiving.

#oldguywisdom #fyp ✝️🙏💜

3/5 Edited to

... Read moreFrom my own experience, embracing the teaching in Philippians 4:6 completely transformed how I approach prayer. For many years, I thought prayer had to be elaborate or perfect, which often made me anxious and hesitant. But this scripture reminds us that prayer is really about honest conversation with God, with an attitude of gratitude. Using the ACTS acronym—Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication—has been a game changer for me. It helps keep my prayers balanced. Starting with Adoration reminds me to appreciate who God is rather than just presenting a list of requests. Confession clears my heart and brings humility, making my communication with God more sincere. Thanksgiving is especially important; it shifts my focus from worries to recognizing my blessings. Ending with Supplication allows me to bring my needs and those of others before God, trusting He listens. This method aligns perfectly with Philippians 4:6’s instruction to pray with thanksgiving. Applying this simple prayer structure has brought peace and reduced anxiety in my daily life. I try to pray this way every morning, expressing gratitude for the new day and asking for guidance to act kindly and patiently. For those wondering how to start, my practical advice is this: don’t overthink it. Speak honestly to God like you would with a trusted friend. Use the ACTS format as a guide, not a strict rule—flexible and heartfelt prayers are most meaningful. Remember, as the scripture says, we need not be anxious but bring everything to God. Prayer centered on thanksgiving changes our perspective and draws us closer to peace and purpose. I encourage everyone to try this approach and notice how it enriches your spiritual life and everyday moments.
