I flew with Spirit!!

I flew with Spirit airline for the first time in April! My boyfriend and I flew round trip from Tampa to Las Vegas and our experience with Spirit was honestly great! We had no issues with our flights or delays, we followed the bag policies and had no issues but they will charge $100 if your bag is not the correct dimensions. There are no complimentary drinks or snacks but you can purchase them or make sure to fill your water bottle in the airport!

Our flight was direct which made for a good experience, and on our first flight we ever had an empty seat so we had lots of room. ✈️

Will you fly Sprit? 💛

... Read moreHey fellow travelers! So, my first Spirit Airlines adventure was a total success, and I know many of you are curious about making those budget flights work, especially for trips to awesome places like Las Vegas. Here’s a little extra on how I made my experience smooth, and some tips I picked up along the way, especially regarding their app! When it comes to flying Spirit, it really boils down to being prepared. First off, let's talk about those baggage rules – they're strict, but totally manageable if you know what to expect. My biggest tip? INVEST IN A GOOD PERSONAL ITEM BAG! Seriously, measure it. Spirit's dimensions for a personal item (which is free!) are usually around 18 x 14 x 8 inches. I managed to fit so much into mine for a weekend trip, avoiding any carry-on fees. If you do need a carry-on or checked bag, make sure you buy it online beforehand. It’s significantly cheaper than paying at the airport gate, where they might hit you with that $100 fee like they mention! Another thing to remember is the no-frills service. No complimentary drinks or snacks on board, but that's part of how they keep fares low. I always bring an empty reusable water bottle and fill it up after security. Pack a few snacks from home, and you’re all set! This saved me a few bucks and meant I wasn't hungry or thirsty during the flight. Now, let's talk tech! The Spirit Airlines app was actually a lifesaver for my trip. I downloaded it right after booking, and it made the whole process so much easier. I used it to check in for my flight 24 hours in advance, which is super important to do online to avoid airport check-in fees. My boarding pass was right there on my phone, no need to print anything. Plus, it gives you real-time flight status updates, which is invaluable. You can also use it to manage your reservation, add bags, or even select seats if you decide you want that extra legroom or a window view (though remember, seat selection usually costs extra!). I even saw some fun "HOWDY" messages within the app interface, keeping the vibe light. Overall, my Spirit Airlines experience proved that with a little planning, you can absolutely enjoy budget air travel. It's about understanding their model and playing by the rules. For a quick, direct flight to Las Vegas, it was fantastic value. I hope these extra tips help you snag a great deal and have a smooth journey too!
