One of the things I was intentional about with Violet in To Pick a Violet was making her strength lie in her perseverance. She’s not a warrior swinging around a sword, but she can heal an entire infirmary. She’s not the general on the battlefield, but she is in the sick ward. She’s not delivering mortal wounds, she’s healing them. 💜
Violet’s name of course comes from the flower namesake which has some interesting properties. Though extremely delicate-looking, violets are among the first flowers of spring and hardy enough to survive frost and cold. They have medicinal properties including reducing inflammation, something Violet is also capable of doing in the inflammatory war between the kingdoms. Violets also have various symbolism with the gods and goddesses of various mythologies which will come to play in To Pick a Violet 2. 👀
