✝️ Fan or Follower?
✝️ This Easter, I have just one question for you…
Are you a fan of Jesus or a follower of Jesus?
Many people admire Jesus Christ.
They love His words, share His quotes, and celebrate Him on special days like today.
But admiration is easy… it costs nothing.
Being a fan means you like Him from a distance.
You cheer for Him when it’s comfortable.
You remember Him when you need something.
But being a follower is different.
A follower walks in His footsteps.
A follower chooses love when it’s hard.
A follower forgives, sacrifices, stays faithful—even when no one is watching.
Jesus never called people to be fans.
He called them to follow Him, to live like Him, to carry their cross, and to stand firm in faith.
So today, don’t just celebrate Easter… reflect on it.
Are you just a fan… or a true follower? ✝️
I've often found myself reflecting on what it truly means to be a follower of Jesus, especially during Easter—a time rich with meaning and spiritual reflection. Being a fan is effortless; it involves admiring Jesus from a comfortable distance, celebrating His teachings when convenient, or recalling His power only during difficult times. But a follower's path is challenging and deeply personal. It means embodying His teachings daily, choosing love even when it's difficult, and demonstrating forgiveness and sacrifice in real-life situations. In my experience, standing firm in faith requires constant self-examination and courage. For example, forgiveness is not just an abstract concept but a daily choice to release resentment even when it's painful. Sacrifices might include giving up personal comforts or speaking up for what is right, even when it's unpopular. Moreover, following Jesus is about consistency—faithfulness when no one is watching, living with integrity, and carrying one’s crosses humbly. The call to 'carry their cross' is symbolic of embracing hardship with perseverance, reflecting the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made. This personal journey from being a distant admirer to an active follower transforms how we relate to faith during Easter and beyond. It invites us to live with deeper compassion and commitment. This Easter, beyond celebration, I encourage you to consider whether your relationship with Jesus is marked by fleeting fandom or enduring discipleship—because following Him means more than applause; it means walking His path every day.
