How I exfoliate my feet every week 🚿👣

2025/1/17 Edited to

... Read moreMy weekly footcare routine has truly transformed my feet, making them feel incredibly soft and healthy. I used to struggle with dry, rough patches and dead skin, but consistency and the right products have made all the difference! If you're looking to achieve super smooth feet at home, here's how I do it, building on my simple steps. I start my foot exfoliation at home by wiping my feet with a cotton pad that's soaked in glycolic acid. This step is a game-changer! Glycolic acid is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) that gently dissolves the bonds holding dead skin cells together, allowing them to slough off easily. It's a fantastic solution if you're wondering how to remove dead skin from feet without harsh physical scrubbing, and it preps your skin beautifully for the next steps. I leave it on for about 10 minutes to work its magic, giving it enough time to penetrate and loosen those stubborn dead skin cells. After the glycolic acid has done its initial work, I rub my feet with a body scrub during my shower. I find this combination to be incredibly effective. The scrub provides a gentle physical exfoliation, buffing away any loosened dead skin cells. For any particularly stubborn or thicker dead skin, especially on my heels, I then use a file to remove it. This dual approach ensures comprehensive exfoliation. Many people ask how to remove thick dead skin from feet without pumice stone; while I use a file, consistent use of chemical exfoliants like glycolic acid can significantly reduce the need for aggressive physical tools, and some even opt for foot peels or exfoliating socks as an alternative. Once I'm done with my shower, I make sure to dry my feet thoroughly with a towel. This is a crucial step not just for comfort, but also to prevent any fungal issues. Then, I wet my feet with a purifying spray – this often contains soothing and hydrating ingredients that prepare the skin for deeper moisturization. Immediately after, I apply hyaluronic acid. This superstar ingredient is a humectant that draws moisture into your skin, making your feet plump and deeply hydrated. The final, essential step is to put on cotton socks right after applying all that goodness! This creates an occlusive layer, helping your feet absorb all that goodness overnight. You'll truly wake up to incredibly soft feet! Regarding how often should you exfoliate your feet, I find a weekly foot exfoliation routine works perfectly for me. It keeps dryness at bay without over-exfoliating or irritating my skin. If your feet are particularly sensitive or you're new to chemical exfoliants, you might start bi-weekly and adjust based on your skin's response. For those who prefer a foot soak before exfoliation, what to soak your feet in to remove dead skin? Epsom salts are fantastic for softening skin and relaxing muscles, and adding a few drops of tea tree oil can be purifying. Just remember to follow up with gentle exfoliation and intense moisturization. Consistency is key for lasting results and keeping your feet feeling their best!
