Pretty boy
A coworker had asked me to draw their dog, a few months ago, so while I’m late, it’s here.
I find ratio/gesture drawing the hardest part. I don’t use grids when drawing, purely eyeball and revise. I thought about scrapping this one. Multiple times.
glad I didn’t thought.
Gesture drawing is a fundamental skill for artists, focusing on the movement and pose of subjects. It emphasizes the importance of quick sketching to capture the essence instead of perfection. Many artists, including beginners, face difficulties with proportions and accuracy when not using tools like grids. Practicing with live subjects, such as pets, can significantly enhance one's skills. Observing how animals move and behave helps artists understand dynamics and capture life-like gestures more effectively. While the initial attempts may feel challenging, learning from mistakes is essential for growth. Incorporating various techniques, such as line work and shading, can also add depth and realism to drawings. It’s valuable to cultivate patience and perseverance, as these traits will lead to improvement over time. Consider joining art communities or online forums for support and feedback, as sharing experiences can provide motivation and inspiration for artists at all levels.
