Sometimes love travels farther than we ever imagine.
A woman here in the States, Jennifer, recently chose to purchase several of our Maker quilts—and then did something incredibly beautiful. She gifted every single one of those quilts back to the very women who made them.
On our last trip to Honduras, I had the honor of presenting these quilts to our Makers. There were so many tears—tears of joy, gratitude, and deep appreciation. These women work so hard creating these beautiful pieces, but they never get to keep them. Their quilts are sold so they can earn income to support their families.
This time was different.
They received both the income and the quilt.
I truly wish I could have captured their raw reactions on video—especially Genesis, a young Maker who was overwhelmed with joy at being able to keep one of her own beautiful quilts. It was a moment none of us will ever forget.
Thank you, Jennifer, for your love, your generosity, and for reminding our Makers just how seen and valued they are. This is what dignity, empowerment, and kindness look like. 💕
