creamy sausage pasta (easy dinner recipe) 🍝🌿

Sharing 5 of my all time favorite pasta recipes! They are all family tested, delicious, and easy to make! This was one of my first recipes I ever created and posted, so some tweaks have been made to perfect it even more.

Ep # 1: Creamy Sausage Pasta 🍅🍝

- 8 ounces pasta, ziti or penne

- Olive oil

- 2 sausage links

- 1 medium white onion, diced

- 2 garlic cloves, minced

- Spice mix (recipe below👇🏼)

- 3 tablespoons tomato paste

- 1/2 cup heavy cream

- 1/3 cup pasta water

- Handful of parsley, chopped

- 2 handfuls parmesan cheese

- Knob of unsalted butter (optional)

- Salt to taste (if needed)

Spice Mix:

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 teaspoon sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon pepper flakes

- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

1. Start by cooking the pasta in salted, boiling water. Combine all the seasonings to make the spice mix.

2. In a hot pan on medium high heat, add some oil. Cook the sausage until it gets crispy. Take out and set aside.

3. In the same pan, add onion and garlic. Cook until fragrant. Add tomato paste and spice mix. Cook until the tomato paste turns a dark red color, about 5 minutes.

4. Turn heat to low, add the heavy cream. Stir until combined. Simmer on low until slightly thickened.

5. Add cooked pasta to the sauce along with pasta water and sausage. Combine throughly.

6. Finish off with a knob of butter, parsley, parmesan cheese, and salt to taste (if needed). Serve immediately and enjoy!
