a thrift shop that sells matcha?!
this might be the best banana pudding we’ve ever tasted?! saw the highly raved banana pudding matcha at Haus Coffee and knew we had to go down and try it for ourselves 😗 here’s what we ordered:
𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚 ($𝟕.𝟓)
this is a new menu item! but sadly it’s a miss for me bcos it’s too bitter and earthy for my liking, the taro and matcha didn’t really go well together imo too but if you like your matcha raw with a hint of taro fragrance then maybe you might like this one 😔
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚 ($𝟕.𝟓)
they are better known for their strawberry matcha and it did not disappoint! they use Niko Neko here, so their matcha is on the stronger side, paired with strawberry jam which makes it the perfect combination of sweet and earthy! if you were to compare their matcha with other places it’s defo giving matcha GAO SIU DAI 🍵
𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ($𝟔)
okay seriously… who made THIS?? bcos it’s soooo good wow the custard is so nice and creamy and they are quite generous with the portion! you definitely have to share this with someone unless you’re a big back… 🤭 we didn’t manage to try this with the matcha tho, but we heard mixed reviews about it in drink-form since it gets a little soggy over time… so we’ll recommend getting a separate one with your choice of matcha!
overall it’s one of the better spots for matcha and there’s a reason why there’s a queue everyday 😳 go early bcos the banana pudding gets sold out QUICK!
If you’re planning a visit to Haus Coffee, I highly recommend trying their signature strawberry matcha which perfectly balances strong matcha with sweet strawberry jam. I found this combo delightful and a refreshing take on matcha drinks in Singapore. While the new taro matcha brings a unique earthy bitterness, it might not be for everyone as the taro and matcha flavors didn’t blend well for me. Don’t miss out on their famous banana pudding—a creamy custard layered with sponge cake and banana slices, topped with biscoff crumbs. It’s so delicious that it’s best shared unless you have a big sweet tooth. Though some say the pudding mixed in a drink form can get soggy, enjoying them separately is definitely the way to go. Additionally, the venue offers a quirky selection of merchandise and thrift items, adding a fun shopping dimension to your visit. Located at Golden Mile Tower, it’s quite convenient, but given its popularity, going early is the best strategy to avoid disappointment, especially for the pudding. For matcha enthusiasts, Haus Coffee's offerings stand out with their rich flavor profiles. Whether you want a strong matcha experience or a sweet twist with strawberry, there’s something for you here. Keep an eye out for their pop-up events if you want to catch special releases or limited menu items.
