Found my new CBD breakfast hack ☕🥪

If you’re working or interning in the CBD, you’ll know how expensive breakfast can get. Spending $8–12 every morning really adds up.

Tried Ho Tak Kee’s Grab & Go breakfast today and I was pleasantly surprised. I got the Luncheon Meat & Egg Sandwich with a coffee for just $4.50+. Quick, affordable, and exactly what I needed before starting work.

Definitely one of the better breakfast finds I’ve had recently.

Any hidden breakfast gems around MBFC? I’m always looking for recommendations!

... Read moreFinding affordable breakfast options in Singapore’s Central Business District can be challenging, especially for those who want something quick yet satisfying. Based on my experience with Ho Tak Kee’s Luncheon Meat & Egg Sandwich, it’s clear that traditional grab-and-go stalls still offer great value and nostalgic flavors that big cafes or chain outlets might not provide. Ho Tak Kee is known for its simple but delicious local snacks, and their luncheon meat and egg sandwich is a perfect example of this. The sandwich is hearty without being heavy, offering the right balance of protein and carbs to fuel your morning. Paired with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, it creates a wholesome breakfast that's easy on the wallet. Aside from Ho Tak Kee, there are other hidden gems around Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) and nearby areas like Raffles Place that you might want to explore. Stalls offering traditional kaya toast sets, economical noodle soups, and local breakfast sets with eggs and toast are quite common and often cost less than $6, making them ideal choices for budget-conscious workers. An additional tip is to visit these places early as they tend to sell out quickly, especially during peak morning hours. If you’re open to a bit of adventure, checking out nearby hawker centers such as Lau Pa Sat or Maxwell Food Centre in the CBD area can reveal even more affordable breakfast specials. Lastly, engaging with local online food communities or forums tagged with #CBDEats or #AffordableEats can tip you off to new or lesser-known breakfast spots that combine quality and affordability. It’s a great way to keep your breakfast routine exciting without breaking the bank.
