Got that glyph though
Hey everyone! If you're anything like me, you've probably spent countless hours in Dead by Daylight, trying to complete those tricky archive challenges. And let's be honest, the Ascendant Glyph can be one of the most frustrating ones to tick off the list! I remember one game where I felt like I searched every corner of Autohaven Wreckers, only to find it in the most unexpected spot right at the end. It definitely felt like a mini-victory, almost as good as hitting a new follower goal on stream! So, what exactly is the Ascendant Glyph? It's one of several collectible glyphs that appear during trials in Dead by Daylight, usually as part of the Tome challenges. These purple-colored beauties are specifically tied to survivor interactions. When you interact with one, you'll need to continuously hold down the interaction button for a set amount of time. The catch? During this interaction, you're unable to move, and any damage taken from the killer will interrupt the process, forcing you to start over. This makes timing and positioning absolutely crucial. From my experience, finding the Ascendant Glyph is half the battle. They emit a distinct purple glow and a subtle, high-pitched humming sound once you're relatively close. Keep your eyes peeled on elevated surfaces – these glyphs love to spawn in high places! Think on top of main building structures, on rock formations, or even on certain loops and tiles that have multiple levels. For example, on maps like The Game, I often find them on upper floors or catwalks near the main stairwell. On maps with open areas like Azarov's Resting Place, check the taller rock formations or the edges of the map where generators might be, sometimes even on top of the vehicles. For maps with distinct main buildings such as RPD or Ormond, always check the highest accessible points. Once you spot it, approaching the glyph safely is key. I've been caught by the killer so many times while trying to grab a glyph, only to have to restart the chase and the interaction! My best advice is to wait until the killer is occupied with a chase on the other side of the map, or if you're feeling brave, distract them yourself before looping back. Remember, while you're interacting with the glyph, you're completely vulnerable. Any hit, even from a long-range power like The Huntress's hatchet or The Deathslinger's harpoon, will stop your progress. Sometimes, bringing a friend along to act as a lookout or a distraction can make all the difference. Perks like Kindred (to see teammates and the killer when hooked) or Empathy (to see injured teammates) can be super helpful for understanding where your teammates and the killer are, giving you that precious window of opportunity to interact safely. Iron Will can also help mask your grunts of pain if you're injured and need to grab a glyph in a pinch. I've learned that sometimes it's better to prioritize the glyph early in the match if it's in a relatively safe spot and you know the killer's not patrolling that area heavily. Other times, if it's in a super hot zone, I'll wait until there are fewer generators left or even until the endgame, especially if the killer is focused on hooks or has already left the area. There's no one-size-fits-all strategy, but adaptability is your friend. Don't rush it, assess the situation, and go for it when you feel the coast is clear. Completing that glyph challenge feels so rewarding, especially when you've been chasing it for a while. Good luck out there, and happy glyph hunting!
