名古屋・千種区にある西原珈琲店は、昔ながらの喫茶店の雰囲気とこだわりのコーヒーが楽しめる人気スポットです。筆者も実際に訪れて感じたのは、店内の静かな空気感と落ち着いたインテリアで、まさに「都会のオアシス」と呼べる空間だということです。朝の眠気を吹き飛ばすガテマラやホンジュラスの豆は、一杯ずつ丁寧にハンドドリップで淹れてもらえる ため、香り高くまろやかな味わいが際立ちます。暑い日でもホットコーヒーを選んで正解でした。 また、看板メニューの西原プリンは大きめサイズで驚きました。固めの食感でむっちりしており、濃厚な風味とほろ苦いカラメルソースがコーヒーと絶妙にマッチします。名古屋の喫茶店らしい懐かしさ溢れる味わいは、デザートとしても満足度抜群です。 西原珈琲店は、栄や伏見、本山の三店舗展開に加え、東京日本橋にも新店舗をオープンしており、ますます注目度が高まっています。お一人様で静かに過ごすお客さんも多く、パソコン作業や読書がしやすい環境。残念ながら電源やWi-Fiはありませんが、それ故にゆったりとした時間を過ごせると感じました。 また、現金のみの支払い、駐車場なしという点は訪問前に注意が必要ですが、本山駅から徒歩4分とアクセスは便利です。筆者としては、時間に余裕があればぜひ平日の午前中に訪れ、静かな雰囲気の中でコーヒーとプリンを楽しむことをおすすめします。名古屋の喫茶文化を深く味わえる貴重なスポットです。
