What to do in Grenada

My recent trip to Grenada was an absolute dream, and while the underwater sculpture park was definitely a highlight, I quickly discovered this 'Spice Isle' has so much more to offer for every type of traveler! After our amazing time scuba diving in Molinere Bay, I was eager to explore other facets of this Caribbean gem. One of the best ways to experience Grenada's natural beauty truly is by getting out on the water. Beyond our dive, we took another sailing excursion. It's fantastic for island hopping! During our trip, we made sure to venture north to Carriacou, Grenada's smaller sister island. It's a quieter, more laid-back escape with pristine beaches like Paradise Beach and fantastic snorkeling around its offshore reefs. The journey itself, with the sea breeze and stunning views, was an adventure. If you're looking for peaceful activities in Grenada, a day trip or even an overnight stay in Carriacou is a must. But Grenada isn't just about what's in or on the water. As the "Spice Isle," it boasts a rich agricultural heritage. We spent a fascinating afternoon on a spice plantation, learning about nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. The aromas were incredible, and it was so interesting to see where all those delicious spices come from. For chocolate lovers, a visit to a local chocolate factory, like Belmont Estate, is another fantastic experience where you can see the bean-to-bar process and, of course, sample some incredible Grenadian chocolate. These tours offer a wonderful glimpse into the island's culture and economy, making them unique things to do in Grenada that connect you with its heart. For those who love nature and a bit of adventure on solid ground, Grenada's lush interior is home to stunning rainforests and numerous waterfalls. We hiked to the famous Annandale Falls, where you can even take a refreshing dip. There are also the more challenging Seven Sisters Falls for the truly adventurous! Each waterfall offers its own unique charm and provides a perfect opportunity to cool off after a scenic walk through the tropical foliage. And speaking of relaxation, you can't visit Grenada without spending time on its world-renowned beaches. While we loved our visit to Flamingo Bay for its serene beauty, the iconic Grand Anse Beach is a must-see. Its soft white sands stretch for miles, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or simply watching the local life unfold. It's easily one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, and a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration. Exploring the local markets, especially St. George's Market, was another vibrant experience. It’s a sensory overload in the best way – fresh produce, spices, local crafts, and delicious street food. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture and grab some souvenirs. Grenada truly stole my heart. From its vibrant underwater world to its fragrant spice plantations and serene beaches, there's an endless array of activities to fill your days. As I continue my journey to becoming a digital nomad, Grenada has certainly set a high bar for future destinations. I can't recommend enough adding this incredible Caribbean island to your travel plans!
