Taking over the pillows

Read moreHaving experienced the frequent struggle over pillow space during sleep, I learned that "taking over the pillows" is a surprisingly common phenomenon that often reflects personal sleeping preferences and comfort needs. Many people tend to stretch out or shift positions at night, unconsciously grabbing more pillows for support or warmth. In my case, I found that communicating openly about pillow preferences with my partner helped a lot. We figured out that having extra pillows on our bed and designating specific pillows for each person reduced the nightly pillow tug-of-war. Additionally, choosing the right pillow types based on individual comfort—like memory foam for neck support or soft feather pillows for cuddling—improved our sleep quality significantly. Sometimes, smaller body pillows can also serve as an additional cushion to share and lessen competition over the main pillows. Understanding that this behavior is often harmless and just a quest for comfort made it easier to approach the situation without frustration. Sharing pillows peacefully is about empathy and compromise, which ultimately contributes to a more restful and harmonious sleep environment.
