Trying to get the basic of drawing realistic faces
I have been drawing since I was young and always drew cartoonist people. Since looking at others and Pinterest it has made me want to draw more realistic drawings. But I struggle with eyes and noses and sometimes on lips. I’m gonna keep practicing and hope that I get better at it. But here is something I drew for today. Not finish but just wanted to share.

Drawing realistic faces can be both exciting and challenging. To improve your skills, understanding facial proportions and features is crucial. Begin by studying the basic structure of the face, focusing on the skull shape and how features align. Practice sketching from reference photos—this helps grasp how light and shadows create depth and realism. Consider taking some time to analyze the anatomy of the eyes, nose, and mouth, as these areas can significantly affect the overall likeness of your portrait. For the eyes, observe how different expressions change their shape and size, and practice drawing them in various angles. For noses and lips, note the subtle variations in width and shape that can create a lifelike appearance. Moreover, don’t underestimate the importance of using the right tools. Invest in good quality pencils and paper suited for sketching. Experiment with different techniques like hatching and blending to add texture and dimension to your drawings. Lastly, share your works in progress within the art community. Feedback can provide valuable insights and encouragement as you continue on your artistic journey.
