@Bren Sosa I’m so glad the lil guy is doing better. 🐾
Having experienced the chaos that can result from off-leash dogs during walks, I want to share why controlling your dog with a leash is not just a courtesy but a vital responsibility. Recently, I witnessed a situation where a young corgi was attacked by an off-leash German Shepherd. Luckily, the corgi recovered, but this incident highlights the hidden dangers of allowing dogs to roam without proper restraint. Many pet owners underestimate the potential aggression some off-leash dogs can exhibit, especially if they lack collars or identification. When a dog attacks — whether another dog or a person — the consequences can be severe. Beyond physical injuries, there’s also emotional trauma for both pets and owners. A loose dog can also cause accidents or escalate conflicts quickly. As a fellow pet parent, I encourage everyone to always leash their dogs in public spaces, no matter how friendly or well-behaved they seem at home. Leashes provide control that can prevent unpredictable behavior. Plus, responsible dog ownership involves respecting others' safety and peace of mind. If you’re concerned about your dog’s socialization or behavior, consider professional training or controlled meetups with other leashed dogs. This approach helps improve your furry friend’s temperament without risking safety. Remember, when a dog bites another dog or a person, the seriousness can't be overstated. It’s a legal and moral obligation to prevent such incidents. This means never allowing your dog off-leash unless in a secured, designated area and always supervising closely. Ultimately, the wellbeing of our pets and community depends on our commitment to responsible actions like leashing. By doing so, we not only protect our beloved companions but also contribute to a safer environment where all pets and their humans can enjoy time outdoors without fear.
