Happy Fall Yall!
Hi, guys!
I know I’ve been MIA but life has been busy these last few months. My oldest (18) is in the army so that’s been a huge adjustment for our family. My middle kiddo (14) has started high school. I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it here but parenting an autistic teen going through puberty is not for the faint of heart 🤣🤣🤣 My youngest (2) 😮💨 Every day I’m fighting to keep him alive. I swear he’s trying to send my husband and I to an early grave ;and we have the gray hair to prove it 🤣🤣🤣)The Grand Mayan at Vidanta Riviera Maya
As the leaves change and the cool winds blow in, fall becomes a perfect time for family bonding and new experiences. In addition to juggling your family's busy schedule, consider planning a trip to beautiful destinations like Mexico, where resorts like The Grand Mayan offer delightful experiences. Enjoy delightful family activities, cultural explorations, and scenic beauty, all while allowing the kids to engage in a little adventure. Fall also brings opportunities for cozy evenings with family, where stories are shared over cups of cider. Create traditions that honor this season, such as visiting pumpkin patches or starting a new family recipe. Balancing the dynamics of an autistic teen navigating puberty requires an understanding and patient approach. Look for community resources, support groups, and activities specifically tailored to teens with autism to foster their growth in a supportive environment. By engaging in open dialogues, you can build a deeper connection with your child while sharing the joys and challenges of family life. Following some self-care routines and enjoying weekends filled with family activities will help navigate through this hectic yet rewarding season. Embrace fall with love, laughter, and patience as your family grows together through these transformative years.
