I think I made a good impression 😊
Starting as a surgical technologist student can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. From my experience, making a good impression goes beyond just knowing the technical skills—it’s also about attitude, communication, and professionalism. In the OR, every team member plays a crucial role, and being reliable and attentive helps build trust quickly. One thing I learned early on was the importance of eager participation and continuous learning. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or seek feedback from your mentors and colleagues. They appreciate students who are proactive and respectful. Also, brushing up on sterile techniques and being meticulous about instrument handling can set you apart. Another key factor is your demeanor. A calm and composed attitude, even in high-pressure situations, shows professionalism and readiness. Remember that effective communication with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists is essential. Using clear and confident language when relaying information or requests helps maintain the flow of the procedure. Lastly, showing genuine enthusiasm for your role as a surgical technologist helps create a positive impression. It reflects your commitment to patient care and makes you a valued part of the surgical team. Embracing each case as a learning opportunity can enhance your skills and confidence over time.

Congratulations 🥳❤️
