As the school year winds down, packing lunches that your kids actually look forward to eating can be a bit challenging. I found that incorporating a mix of familiar favorites and small treats keeps lunch exciting without going overboard. For example, including a Little Debbie Cosmic Brownie or Welch's Fruit 'n Yogurt Snack adds a sweet but balanced touch to the meal. Adding fruit-based snacks like the Welch's options is a great way to incorporate some vitamins while satisfying their sweet tooth. Pairing these with protein-rich items like yogurt can help maintain energy levels in the afternoon. When packing lunches, I also try to include a variety of textures and flavors—something crunchy, something creamy, and something sweet—to keep the meal balanced and enjoyable. Using fun and colorful containers or sectioned lunch boxes can make the presentation more appealing to kids. Labeling sections or involving children in choosing elements for their lunch can also increase their excitement about eating what’s packed. Remember, the last week of school is a perfect time to make lunches both nutritious and a little celebratory, helping kids finish the year on a positive note.
