Only post Reels- Reels are a great way to grow and get seen by new followers, but they are not very good when it comes to keeping your audience engaged and retaining followers. Carousel posts and regular pictures are better for that.
Only posting whenever I feel like it- larger accounts can get away with us, but when you’re trying to grow on Instagram, posting consistently is your best friend. Do you want to make sure that you’re constantly getting seen and that your audience remembers why they followed you.
DM asking for follows- this is the same as follow for follow or any of those strategies. It’s a terrible way to grow and it doesn’t work and I can go on and on about why I don’t recommend you do this.
Joining engagement/ “support” groups- this may sound like a great idea on paper because you basically have guaranteed engagement, but it is terrible for long-term growth. I literally have a whole 10 minute video explaining why this is a bad idea.
Focus only on trends/ trending audio- trends are a great way to keep your content fresh and attract new eyes, but if you’re content doesn’t provide any value besides trends… People are going to Unfollow just as quickly as they followed you because you aren’t providing them with any real value.
