Paint session
Day In My Life
📅 Date: 7/26
🌅Morning : Storytime with my babies @ our local library
🌤Afternoon : Pretend play with my son, we created our own grocery store
🌃Nap time : I was able to work on my painting while they slept
As a busy parent, I know how challenging it can be to carve out time for yourself, let alone for a creative outlet like painting. My recent 'paint session' during naptime was a small reminder that even a few moments of artistic expression can truly re-energize your spirit. It's not just about the final 'arts picture,' but the joyful process of creation itself! If you're like me and dream of diving into art, especially something as cheerful as a 'sunflower field painting,' don't be intimidated. I started as a complete 'beginner,' and I can assure you that an 'easy' approach is key. For my sunflower piece, I focused on simple shapes for the petals and used layers of yellow and orange, adding a touch of brown for the center. Don't worry about perfection; embrace the 'paint messy' aspect! A simple 'paint palette' and a few brushes are all you need. You can even try using your fingers for blending if you want to get truly 'colour in hand' – it's incredibly freeing and therapeutic. Finding time for a 'creative painting session' isn't always easy. For me, naptime is golden! It's my dedicated window to set up my 'easel' and dive into my project. But it doesn't have to be a masterpiece every time. Sometimes, it's just about experimenting with 'artistic expressions' or trying out a new technique. This little ritual has become a crucial part of my self-care, helping me maintain a sense of 'identity art' beyond my role as a mom. It's truly amazing how a splash of color can reflect your inner world. And speaking of kids, involving them in 'kids doing art' can be a wonderful, albeit sometimes messy, adventure! While I enjoy my solo painting, I also love setting up simple art activities for my son. Think finger painting with washable paints or using sponges to create abstract designs. Yes, there will be 'paint on hands,' and it might get a little chaotic, but the joy and exploration in their eyes are priceless. We've used our 'red shopping cart' and 'yellow truck' from pretend play to inspire drawings, or even dipped toy wheels in paint to create unique patterns. Just lay down a big sheet or an old shower curtain, dress them in old clothes, and let them explore! It's all part of fostering creativity from a young age. Ultimately, whether it's a quiet moment with a canvas or a lively art session with your little ones, embracing 'art' in your daily life can bring so much fulfillment. It's a chance to express yourself, unwind, and create something beautiful, no matter how busy life gets. So go ahead, grab some paints, and let your creativity flow – you deserve that moment of personal expression!
