Road Station Awaji
Roadside Station Awaji is located directly under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and is a spot where you can enjoy both superb views and gourmet food. There are souvenir shops and several restaurants, so you can fully enjoy the food and charm of Awaji Island.

Access:
By car: About 5 minutes from Kobe Awaji Naruto Expressway "Awaji IC."
Public Transportation: From JR Akashi Station, take the Awaji Genova Line to Iwaya Port. From there, take the Awaji Kotsu Bus and get off at Road Station Awaji.

Superb spot: Located directly under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the most attractive location is the location where you can see the whole view of the bridge from below.
Seafood bowl restaurant "Ebisu Maru": Fresh seafood bowl and raw shirasu bowl are recommended.
Restaurant Kaikyo: There are various restaurants, and you can enjoy various Awaji Island gourmet.
Burger shop "Tan be-": Burgers using ingredients from Awaji Island are popular.
Souvenirs: Awaji Island's specialty onions and their processed products, as well as local products such as nailed tofu are available.

道の駅あわじは単なる休憩場所ではなく、訪れるだけで淡路島の魅力を存分に感じられるスポットです。私も何度か訪れた経験がありますが、特に明石海峡大橋を真下から見上げる迫力は圧巻で、写真撮影スポットとしても最高です。 グルメ面では、海鮮好きにはえびす丸の新鮮な海鮮丼がたまらない一品。地元で獲れた生しらすがたっぷりのった丼は、その時期ならではの絶品です。また、淡路島産の素材を使ったバーガー屋「淡be-」も見逃せません。肉の旨みと島の野菜が絶妙にマッチし、一度味わうとリピートしたくなります。 お土産も充実しており、淡路島名物の玉ねぎを使った加工品は種類豊富で、家庭用からギフト用まで揃えることができるのも嬉しいポイント。いかなごの釘煮もご飯のお供として人気が高いです。 施設の営業時間は曜日により異なりますが、基本的に午前9時から夕方5時30分まで開いており、車でのアクセスは神戸淡路鳴門自動車道「淡路IC」から約5分と非常に便利。また、公共交通機関を利用する場合でも、JR明石駅からのフェリーとバスでスムーズにアクセス可能なので、車のない方も訪れやすいです。 また、無料駐車場だけでなく、繁忙期には臨時駐車場も開放されるため、駐車スペースを心配せずにゆっくりと滞在できます。訪問の際は木曜日が定休日なので、スケジュール調整に注意してください。 私のおすすめはランチタイムの海鮮丼を楽しんだ後、道の駅の周辺を散策しながら明石海峡大橋の絶景をじっくり味わうことです。季節によっては地元の特産品を使った季節限定メニューも登場するので、何度訪れても新しい発見があります。 道の駅あわじは観光スポットとしてだけでなく、淡路島の自然や食文化を感じられる場所としてぜひ足を運んでほしい場所です。もし訪れた際は、カメラとお腹を空かせて行くのがおすすめですよ。
