Kiho Town Sea Turtle Park
Roadside Station Kihocho Sea Turtle Park is located in the southernmost part of Mie Prefecture, and it is a rare roadside station in Japan with a free admission sea turtle aquarium. It is a base for sea turtle protection and awareness activities, and you can observe swimming from small to large sea turtles above the pool or from the underwater window.

Main Features and Recommended Points
Interacting with sea turtles: At the Sea Turtle Aquarium, you can see protected sea turtles up close. There are events where you can interact with sea turtles and other turtles on an irregular basis, and you can experience feeding them (for a fee).
Specialty Products: Kiho-cho's specialty products such as citrus fruits and plum-related products, 100% straight mandarin orange juice and jelly are sold at the Bussankan.
Meals: Reasonably priced menus such as seafood bowl and shirasu bowl using local fish, udon noodles with homemade soup stock are provided. There are also plenty of take-out menus.

実際に紀宝町ウミガメ公園を訪れてみると、ウミガメの剥製がたくさん飾られている 店内の雰囲気にまず驚かされました。隣接する無料のウミガメ水族館では、大小さまざまなウミガメが泳ぐ姿をプールの上や水中窓からゆっくり見ることができ、特に子ガメ水槽はとてもかわいくてつい長居してしまいました。 また、ウミガメ以外にも少しだけ魚や他の生き物も飼育されていて、子どもたちと一緒に楽しむのに最適な場所だと感じました。不定期で開催されるウミガメとの触れ合いイベントや、餌やり体験（有料）は普段できない貴重な体験で、自然保護への理解も深まります。 物産館では、紀宝町ならではの新鮮な柑橘類や梅製品が豊富で、100%ストレートのみかんジュースやみかんゼリーはお土産に喜ばれます。レストランでは、地元の新鮮な魚介類を使ったリーズナブルな海鮮丼やしらす丼、自家製出汁のうどんが楽しめるのも嬉しいポイントです。テイクアウトも充実しているため、気軽に立ち寄って食事だけでも楽しめます。 さらに車いす対応の入口やトイレ、無料駐車場も完備されていて、アクセスの良さも抜群。南紀方面へのドライブや観光の途中に、ぜひ気軽に立ち寄ってみてはいかがでしょうか。GOProなどを持参し、ウミガメたちの泳ぐ姿を動画撮影すれば特別な思い出にもなりますよ。
