Dinosaur Valley Katsuyama
Roadside Station Katsuyama in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture, is a sightseeing base located on the way to the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, about 1 minute by car from the Chubu Jukan Expressway "Katsuyama IC." As of 2026, it is popular as a spot full of dinosaur-themed souvenirs, gourmet, and children's playground equipment.

Souvenir Shop Raptor: About 4,000 kinds of dinosaur goods, fresh agricultural products from Katsuyama, souvenirs from Fukui are available.
Kuzuryu Terrace (Cafe): You can enjoy local cuisine using local ingredients.
Dinosaur Monument: There are huge dinosaur paintings on the walls of the building and a slide in the shape of a dinosaur, making it a great photo spot.
Seasonal events: On February 11, 2026 (Wednesday, public holiday), the Winter Festival of Dinosaurs and Art 2026 will be held, featuring giant snow dinosaurs and more.
Access to nearby tourist spot
Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum: Approximately 10 minutes by car. Advance reservation (date and time reserved ticket) is required to enter the museum.
Katsuyama Dinosaur Forest: A park adjacent to the museum where you can experience athletic activities and fossil excavation.
Echizen Daibutsu (Seidaiji Temple): It is open in winter from January 2026, and opening hours are from 9: 00 to 16: 00.
