Mobile suit hangar?
Kumenosato, a roadside station in Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture, is located along National Route 181 and is a unique roadside station known as a symbol of a giant mobile suit (Z Gundam) with a total length of 7 meters.

Producer: Mr. Shoichi Nakamoto, who lives in Tsuyama City, completed the whole work from design to production alone.
Model: Modeled after "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," it was produced with the concept of a biped walking machine that can be operated by a person.
Experience: A boarding experience event may be held once a year.

道の駅久米の里にある巨大モビルスーツは、ただの展示物ではなく、設計から製作まで中元正一さんが一人で完成させたすばらしい作品です。このZガンダム型モビルスーツは人が乗り込んで操作できる二足歩行機という点が特に興味深く、モビルスーツ好きやガンダムファンにはぜひ訪れてほしいスポットです。 私が訪れた時は残念ながら搭乗体験イベントは開催されていなかったものの、その迫力ある姿は十分に楽しめました。イベントが開催される際は地域の方々やガンダムファンが集まり、活気のある雰囲気になるそうですので、機会があればぜひ参加してみてください。 また、道の駅内の農家レストラン「食遊館」では、津山のご当地B級グルメ「津山ホルモンうどん」が定番メニューとして人気が高く、訪問者に地元の味を堪能させています。個人的にはジャンボピーマンを使ったジャンピーアイスも珍しくておすすめです。甘さとピーマンのほど良い辛みが意外にマッチしていて、ここでしか味わえない逸品だと思います。 さらには、牛の干し肉や煮こごりなどの豊富なお土産品が揃っているのも魅力的。地元の新鮮野菜とともにお土産を選べるので、訪問の記念にぜひ買って帰りたいですね。 アクセスも中国自動車道・院庄ICから車で約5分と便利な場所にあり、岡山県を訪れた際には立ち寄りやすいのも嬉しいポイントです。営業時間や休館日も確認してから訪れると安心です。 モビルスーツ格納庫としてのユニークな存在である道の駅久米の里は、ガンダムファンはもちろん、地域の特産やグルメを楽しみたい旅行者にもおすすめのスポットです。次回は搭乗体験イベントに合わせて再訪したいと思います。
