Ryukubashi (Kyoto Hachiman City)
"Nagare-bashi" is a bridge with a special structure that the bridge girder dares to flow when the river rises, and generally refers to "Kouzuya Bridge" on the Kizu River connecting Yawata City and Kumiyama Town in Kyoto Prefecture.
It is the longest wooden humanitarian bridge in Japan with a length of 356.5 meters and a width of 3.3 meters, and it is widely known as a location for many historical dramas such as "Abarenbo Shogun" and "Mito Komon" because of its emotional scenery.
The flowing bridge plate is connected to the pier by wire rope every several blocks.
After the water has receded, it can be restored to its original position simply by pulling up the rope, so it can be restored much more cheaply and in a shorter period of time than a normal bridge.
