finally got to try Plunge Club Singapore, a recovery and wellness club conveniently located near clarke quay mrt! if you’re not familiar with cold plunges, most clubs typically feature a sauna and cold plunge pools, and you alternate between the two (this is also known as contrast therapy!).
the sauna at Plunge Club was spacious, and the 90°C heat was perfect for warming up our bodies before trying the cold plunge. saunas also have many scientifically proven benefits, including improving cardiovascular health, reducing stress, and lowering mortality risk 👍🏼
there were two cold plunges to choose from - an 8°C pool (chiller), and a 4°C pool (freezer). the chiller pool is beginner-friendly enough for those new to cold plunges, while still offering a bit of a challenge. the freezer pool, though, is without a doubt the coldest cold plunge i’ve ever experienced!!! 🥶 it was a good challenge though, because my brain was screaming for me to GET OUT within the first 10 secs of entering. definitely all about willpower!
the facilities were awesome too - there were open showers and vanity tables (didn’t snap a pic to protect the privacy of other guests 🫣), a lounge area with water station, books, and games. towels and swimsuits are also available at no charge - perfect for those wanting to drop by on a whim!
would definitely recommend Plunge Club Singapore for anyone looking to try contrast therapy ✨
... Read moreHaving visited Plunge Club Singapore myself, I found the combination of sauna and cold plunge pools an invigorating way to reset both mind and body. The contrast therapy method, which alternates between intense heat and chilling cold, stimulates circulation and can speed up recovery from muscle soreness.
At Plunge Club, the sauna’s high temperature warms you up thoroughly to prepare your muscles and cardiovascular system for the subsequent cold plunge. I started with the 8°C chiller pool, which was manageable but still gave a brisk, refreshing shock that heightened my alertness. When I dared to try the 4°C freezer pool, the sudden cold was intense and required a strong mental focus to stay in. It truly tested my willpower but left me feeling deeply revitalized.
The available amenities made the experience comfortable and convenient — especially the lounge area with books and classic games like Connect 4, which added a relaxed social element while waiting between sessions. The presence of a water station was a thoughtful touch, as staying hydrated is critical when using saunas and cold plunges.
Even if you arrive without swimwear or towels, Plunge Club’s complimentary provisions remove barriers to dropping in spontaneously. For anyone new to cold plunging, starting with the chiller pool is a gentle yet effective introduction.
Beyond the physical benefits such as improved circulation, reduced inflammation, and better cardiovascular health, I found this kind of contrast therapy helped reduce stress and enhanced my overall sense of well-being. It’s an accessible wellness ritual that fits perfectly into a busy urban lifestyle, especially with its convenient location near Clarke Quay MRT. I’d highly recommend Plunge Club to fellow wellness seekers looking to try cold plunge therapy for recovery or simply to refresh and recharge.
