POV: Getting Gen Alpha into hiking
If you’ve been scrolling lately, you’ve probably seen the “6–7” trend, where kids find connection to anything that looks or sounds like 67.
It’s funny, but it also made me think: maybe that’s how we bridge the gap between screens and trails!
Make nature relatable.
Make it fun.
Make it the trend.
Because here’s the thing: waterfalls, redwoods, sea caves, even local parks, they’re not just backdrops for content.
They’re classrooms.
For my kids, hiking has taught patience, curiosity, resilience, all of which you can’t get from a screen.
That’s why I try to involve them every chance I get, from easy walks and kid-friendly nature trails to more adventurous hidden gems.
If we can help Gen Alpha see the awe in what’s around them, even if it starts with a 67-foot waterfall they swear is “six seven”
Then maybe we raise a generation that values the outdoors as much as we do.
So if you’re a parent, creator, or just someone who loves exploring, bring the kids along.
Let them get muddy, make the wrong size guess, and see what real adventure looks like.
As for this hidden waterfall? I’m going to share two guides, one for this “easier” to reach waterfall, and a YouTube video for the one that’s not.
Can’t wait to show you both! #hiking #hiddengems #fyp
