As an interior designer and stylist based in vibrant Portland, Oregon, my journey into creating beautiful, functional spaces is deeply rooted in a passion for the built environment. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Portland State University in 2022, which truly shaped my understanding of space, form, and how design can profoundly impact daily living. My personal design philosophy revolves around celebrating shape, color, and texture. I believe these elements are the building blocks of any truly remarkable interior. You’ll often find me experimenting with contrasting materials – perhaps a rough, natural wood paired with a sleek, polished metal, or a plush velvet sofa set against a minimalist concrete wall. It’s all about creating a tactile experience, a home that feels as good as it looks. I’m particularly drawn to bold, rich hues, and if you’ve seen my work, you know I have a soft spot for cobalt blue – it’s such a versatile color that can bring both serenity and a pop of sophisticated energy to a room. Lighting is another cornerstone of my design projects. It’s not just about illumination; it’s about crafting mood and highlighting architectural features or art pieces. I love exploring unique fixtures, from sculptural pendants that act as focal points to subtle, integrated lighting that creates a warm, inviting glow. Beyond that, I often integrate elements like stripes, whether in textiles, wall treatments, or even furniture, to introduce a sense of rhythm and graphic interest. One of my evolving passions is incorporating natural elements, and I'm eager to delve more into floral design. Imagine a stunning arrangement of pink, yellow, and orange gerbera daisies bringing life and a splash of organic beauty to a contemporary living room. For me, plants and flowers aren’t just accessories; they’re vital components that connect us to nature and soften modern lines. I'm always looking for ways to bring the outdoors in, creating a harmonious balance. My appreciation for high ceilings, for instance, often comes from visiting iconic spaces like the Schindler House in Los Angeles, where light and volume play such a crucial role. Ultimately, my goal is to craft spaces that are not only stylish and aesthetically pleasing but also deeply personal and practical for my clients. Every project is an opportunity to tell a unique story, to blend contemporary design with eclectic touches, and to create a home that truly resonates.
