cheap + easy solution for loose outlets 🔌
we moved into our new home last week and the only thing that I didn’t love about it was that all the outlets are super loose…my chargers fall right out of them ðŸ«
but I found these on Amazon and it was literally the easiest and cheapest solution!
the snuglets are little plastic [I think?] pieces that fit right into your outlet and make your plugs fit snug 🔌
they come in clear or glow-in-the-dark, which I obviously got the glow in the dark bc I’m a 24 year old child 😆

you can also find them on my Amazon storefront, linked in my bio 🔗
💬: have you tried these before?

Okay, let's be real – there's nothing more annoying than plugging in your phone charger, only for it to slowly, or sometimes instantly, slide right out of the wall! I've been there, pulling my hair out trying to find a stable connection. It feels like such a small problem, but it's incredibly frustrating, especially when you need that battery boost. My personal game-changer, as I mentioned, has been those amazing 'snuglets.' Before discovering them, I used to just jam my charger in at a weird angle, hoping for the best, or try to bend the prongs slightly (which, by the way, can be risky and isn't a long-term solution!). But the snuglets are different. They're these clever little plastic pieces that you simply insert into the outlet's receptacles. What they do is create a much tighter, 'snug fit' for your plug. It's like they give the outlet back its grip! What I love is that it's not just about stopping the plug from falling out; a firmer connection can actually 'improve electrical connection,' which is important for efficient charging and reducing potential fire hazards from arcing. You might wonder why outlets get loose in the first place. Often, it's just normal wear and tear over years of plugs being inserted and removed. Sometimes, it's due to heavy or oversized plugs constantly stretching the internal contacts. In older homes, the outlets might just be... well, old! I've also heard of cases where initial installation wasn't quite right. While snuglets are fantastic for addressing the symptom of a loose plug, it's also good to know a bit more. For instance, if you notice an outlet is not just loose but also feels hot to the touch, or you see scorch marks, that's a red flag! In those situations, a snuglet isn't the answer – you'll want to call a qualified electrician immediately, as it could indicate a more serious wiring issue. Safety first, always! Beyond the immediate fix, there are small habits you can adopt to prevent outlets from loosening up too quickly. Try to pull plugs straight out rather than wiggling them aggressively. Avoid overloading outlets, especially with power strips that have heavy adapters. And if you have kids or pets, those safety covers can actually help protect the outlet's internal mechanisms from dust and debris, prolonging their life. Finding simple, effective home hacks like the snuglet for things like 'loose outlet solutions for phone charging' truly makes life so much easier. It’s one of those small improvements that makes a big difference in daily convenience. I hope this helps anyone else struggling with those wobbly wall connections!
