My Bachelorette & 5 Tips for Inclusive Success

Celebrating this season of life while building a business that actually fits who I am! 🌈 As someone in the ND, Disabled, and LGBTQ+ community, I know the "traditional" hustle doesn't always work for us.

If you want to join and build a life of freedom, here is how to do it on your own terms:

• 1. Sensory First 🧘‍♀️: Your environment matters. Use noise-canceling headphones or low-light workspaces to stay regulated while you work.

• 2. Accommodate Yourself 📲: Don't fight executive dysfunction. Use speech-to-text for captions and automation tools to keep things moving when energy is low.

• 3. Find Your Chosen Family 🏳️‍🌈: Success is better with a team that celebrates your identity. Seek out inclusive spaces where masking isn't required.

• 4. The "Spoonie" Schedule 🥄: Learn to work in "sprints" when you have the energy, and give yourself full permission to rest when you don't.

• 5. Authenticity > Perfection 💫: Your unique perspective is your brand. People want to buy from and work with you, not a filtered version of you.

Building a business shouldn't mean sacrificing your well-being. Let's make this space accessible for everyone! 💦

... Read moreBuilding a business that authentically aligns with your identity and needs isn’t just a nice idea—it’s essential for sustainable success. As someone navigating the intersections of neurodivergence, disability, and LGBTQ+ identity, I’ve found that tailoring my approach to entrepreneurship has been a game-changer. Creating a sensory-friendly workspace, for instance, can drastically improve focus and energy levels. I initially underestimated how disruptive certain noises or bright lighting could be until I invested in noise-canceling headphones and dimmable lights. Over time, this environment helped me reduce overwhelm and stay productive. Accommodating executive dysfunction by integrating speech-to-text tools and automations helped me maintain momentum on low-energy days. Tools like voice dictation apps and scheduling automation prevent tasks from piling up and respect my fluctuating capacity without guilt. The concept of a "chosen family" has provided emotional support and a professional network that celebrates my full self instead of asking me to mask or conform. Finding inclusive communities both online and offline, especially spaces where neurodivergence and LGBTQ+ identities are normalized, fosters collaboration and authentic connections. Embracing the “spoonie” schedule—working in focused bursts followed by restful breaks—allowed me to thrive without burnout. Instead of forcing a traditional 9-to-5 grind, I build my workflow around my health rhythms, which enhances productivity and creativity. Lastly, prioritizing authenticity over perfection transformed how I brand and market my business. People resonate deeply with genuine stories and unique perspectives, making my brand both relatable and memorable. If you’re balancing similar challenges, remember that building your business on accessible, inclusive, and self-compassionate practices isn’t just possible—it’s powerful. By aligning your work with your identity and needs, you cultivate sustainability, fulfillment, and success on your own terms.
