How I found a job that actually works WITH my chronic health 🥹

Growing up, if you asked me what I wanted to be, the answer was always instantaneous: I wanted to own my own dance school. 🩰✨

Life shifted, health priorities changed, and my path ended up looking a little different than I originally pictured. But honestly? I couldn’t be more grateful for where I landed.

Today, I have a job that actually works with my health instead of against it. It gives me the balance, flexibility, and support I truly need—which is a win younger me could have only dreamed of.

In fact, I was so genuinely excited about this work that I spent my birthday at a training for it! 🥳🎂 (And yes, I was actually hyped to be there!)

Sometimes the dream evolves, and it turns out even better than you planned. 💖

... Read moreLiving with chronic health conditions often means adapting our career goals to fit new realities, and I can deeply relate to this journey. When I was growing up, my dream was to own a dance school—that passion fueled my plans. But as health priorities shifted, I realized I needed a career that supports my well-being rather than demanding more than I could manage. In seeking such a role, flexibility became key. I looked for jobs that allowed control over my schedule, the possibility to work remotely, and that prioritized supportive environments. This approach has made a huge difference in managing symptoms and stress, contributing to improved daily functioning. I highly recommend being proactive about communicating your needs with potential employers or clients. Transparency about your health requirements can lead to accommodations like flexible hours, rest periods, or reduced travel, which promote sustainable work-life balance. Additionally, embracing a mindset that dreams can evolve is empowering. What may start as one goal can transform into an opportunity that aligns better with your current needs and passions. For me, this shift has opened doors I never expected, allowing me to thrive professionally while honoring my health.
