One of my favorite things about building an online business is having the ability to work from anywhere. 💻✨
As someone with a disability, flexibility means so much to me.
I can work from home.
I can work around doctor’s appointments.
I can adjust my schedule when I’m not feeling my best.
And I can build something without being tied to a traditional workplace.
But I also know that flexibility doesn’t automatically equal financial stability.
I still have a car lease.
Student loans.
Medications.
Doctor’s appointments.
Everyday expenses.
And a BIG goal of saving for a home for my wife & me. 🏡❤️
That’s why I’m building this business.
Not because income is guaranteed—it isn’t.
Not because entrepreneurship is easy—it isn’t.
But because I want to create an additional income stream and explore what’s possible when I build work around the life I actually want.
For me, this is about creating options instead of waiting for the perfect workplace to create them for me.
And as a disabled person, having that choice matters. 💜

Working with a disability often requires extra flexibility and understanding, which traditional workplaces might struggle to provide. Through my experience building an online business, I've found that this flexibility allows me to prioritize my health while working towards my financial goals. I’ve learned that one major benefit of an online business is the ability to tailor work around my variable energy levels and medical appointments without sacrificing progress. For example, when I’m feeling well, I tackle more demanding tasks like content creation or client outreach. On lower-energy days, I focus on lighter workloads like answering emails or planning future steps. Another important aspect is financial management. I’m mindful that while flexibility is invaluable, consistent income is crucial to cover expenses such as car leases, student loans, and medications. Building multiple income streams within my online business helps mitigate the unpredictability that comes with entrepreneurship. Importantly, this journey has been about creating options rather than waiting for a perfect employer or workplace environment. Crafting a livelihood that works with my disability gives me control and stability that I might not otherwise have. If you’re thinking about starting something similar, my advice is to focus on what fits your lifestyle and to be patient with yourself. Flexibility in work means you can truly build a life that supports your well-being and goals. It’s definitely not easy, but creating an environment where work works for you is worth the effort and can be deeply empowering.
