I didn’t survive it. I became someone who refused to live by others’ limits.

I didn’t “survive it.”

I became someone else.

Someone who stopped asking for permission to take up space.

Someone who learned that being disabled doesn’t mean being incapable.

Someone who stopped measuring success by how well I fit into a world that wasn’t designed with me in mind.

Someone who started building a life around what I can do instead of everything people told me I couldn’t.

The diagnosis changed my life. The setbacks changed me. The assumptions people made about me changed me.

But they didn’t get the final say. 🤍

Now I’m building a life and an income stream that gives me more flexibility to work around my needs—not because it’s easy, but because I refuse to believe there’s only one way to build a successful life.

If you’re disabled, chronically ill, or neurodivergent and you’ve ever felt like the world decided your limits for you… you’re not alone.

Your life can look different. And different doesn’t mean less. ✨

... Read moreLiving with a disability or chronic illness often means facing not just physical challenges but also societal expectations and limitations. From my own experience, I found that the first and most important step towards empowerment is shifting your mindset from merely surviving to actively redefining what it means to live fully. When I was first diagnosed, I felt overwhelmed by the assumptions others made about my capabilities. People often unconsciously impose limits on what disabled individuals can achieve, believing that success and productivity must look a certain way. But I discovered that embracing flexibility and creating a life tailored specifically to my strengths and needs was the key to thriving. Building a flexible work life—whether through entrepreneurship or remote jobs—allowed me to align my work with my health requirements without sacrificing my ambitions. This path isn't always easy, but it is liberating because it grants control over my time and environment, breaking free from conventional norms. Furthermore, joining communities that focus on #BuildDifferently or #InclusiveEntrepreneurship became a crucial source of support and inspiration. Sharing experiences and strategies for managing disability while pursuing meaningful goals helped me realize I am not alone in challenging societal limits. For those who may feel trapped by external definitions of ability, I encourage you to reimagine success on your terms. Disability inclusion means recognizing diverse ways of working, creating, and contributing. Taking up space unapologetically and refusing to seek permission to exist fully is a powerful act of resistance. Ultimately, your life can be rich and fulfilling, even if it looks different from what the world expects. Different is not less—it's an opportunity to build a future that honors your unique strengths and perspectives.
