MY HEART. MY FRAGILE BROKEN HEART.

A Flame Amongst the Seas took my life by storm. Crumpled it, threw it off a cliff, picked it up and kissed it, and then set it on fire.

This was such a good sequel to book one. I loved being back with my babies, Emsyra and Drae.

Itโ€™s fast paced and full of betrayals and twists.. but itโ€™s also full of heartache, growth, and healing. It was a full send journey and Emilia did not hold back.

The love I have for every single character in this series is unmatched (except for the three, you know who you are). I want to wrap them up and stuff them in my pocket to keep them all safe and out of harms way.

Getting to know Kaelypso and feel the bond grow through her and Esmyra just felt so special and healing.

The banter between her and Drae is top notch and literally had me smiling to myself when I was reading, I love how fiery she is. The way Drae fully supports and cherishes Esmyra just has me swooning. Heโ€™s officially my favorite MMC and I just canโ€™t wait to read more of them.

The ending of this might actually send me into psychosis because WHAT DO YOU MEAN??? The tears I shed ๐Ÿ˜ญ if you need me, Iโ€™ll be staring at the wall patiently waiting for book three.

These books and their characters have such a special place in my heart. Thank you Emilia for letting me be apart of your team and read this before release โค๏ธ

... Read moreOkay, fellow bookworms, let's talk about something truly magical: romantasy! If you're anything like me, you've probably fallen head over heels for this incredible genre that blends the epic scope of fantasy with heart-wrenching romance. And 'A Flame Amongst the Seas'? Itโ€™s a prime example of why I'm utterly obsessed and why it left my heart in a beautiful, broken mess. What really makes a romantasy novel shine, and what Emilia absolutely nails in this sequel, is how seamlessly it weaves together intricate world-building, high-stakes adventure, and a love story that feels so real you can almost touch it. This isn't just a romance set in a fantasy world; it's a romance integral to the fantasy plot, where the characters' bond is tested by wars, betrayals, and personal growth. The journey with Emsyra and Drae is full of those twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat, proving that the best love stories are forged in fire and adversity. From the captivating cover of 'A Flame Among the Seas' ARC, which shows a mermaid edition, to the collage highlighting 'Pirate romantasy' and 'Enemies to lovers' tropes, this book screams everything I adore about the genre. Who can resist a tale involving daring pirate ships, ancient prophecies, and the allure of sirens or mermaids? The fantastical elements aren't just a backdrop; they're woven into the very fabric of the characters' identities and their struggles. Getting to see the bond grow between Kaelypso and Esmyra, and the unwavering support Drae offers, is truly special. Itโ€™s the kind of character development that makes you want to wrap them up and protect them from every harm. The emotional depth is another hallmark of great romantasy, and this book delivers it in spades. The original review perfectly captured the 'heartache, growth, and healing' that defines this series. Itโ€™s not afraid to put its characters through the wringer, making their triumphs feel earned and their love all the more profound. You'll find yourself swooning over the banter and cherishing their moments of vulnerability, just as much as you'll be gasping at the betrayals and cheering for their victories. Thatโ€™s the power of romantasy โ€“ it makes you feel everything, from the depths of despair to the heights of euphoria. If youโ€™re new to romantasy or searching for your next captivating read, diving into 'A Flame Amongst the Seas' and its predecessor is a journey I highly recommend. Itโ€™s more than just a book; itโ€™s an immersive experience that will sweep you away into a world of magic, danger, and unforgettable love. Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster that will leave you staring at the wall, impatiently waiting for the next installment, just like I am! Trust me, your heart will thank you (and maybe break a little, but in the best possible way!).

Ooh yes! Love @alihazelwood as usual! This book features a perceived enemy and is kind of a slow burn, mainly because the protagonist, Rue, lacks emotional awareness. But I love a #greenflag guy! Some reviews say they donโ€™t like this book as much as her others, but I kinda like it more. There
