MY HEART. MY FRAGILE BROKEN HEART.

A Flame Amongst the Seas took my life by storm. Crumpled it, threw it off a cliff, picked it up and kissed it, and then set it on fire.

This was such a good sequel to book one. I loved being back with my babies, Emsyra and Drae.

Itโ€™s fast paced and full of betrayals and twists.. but itโ€™s also full of heartache, growth, and healing. It was a full send journey and Emilia did not hold back.

The love I have for every single character in this series is unmatched (except for the three, you know who you are). I want to wrap them up and stuff them in my pocket to keep them all safe and out of harms way.

Getting to know Kaelypso and feel the bond grow through her and Esmyra just felt so special and healing.

The banter between her and Drae is top notch and literally had me smiling to myself when I was reading, I love how fiery she is. The way Drae fully supports and cherishes Esmyra just has me swooning. Heโ€™s officially my favorite MMC and I just canโ€™t wait to read more of them.

The ending of this might actually send me into psychosis because WHAT DO YOU MEAN??? The tears I shed ๐Ÿ˜ญ if you need me, Iโ€™ll be staring at the wall patiently waiting for book three.

These books and their characters have such a special place in my heart. Thank you Emilia for letting me be apart of your team and read this before release โค๏ธ

... Read moreReading 'A Flame Amongst the Seas' felt like being swept away on an emotional tide filled with both heartbreak and hope. The storyโ€™s blend of siren lore and pirate romantasy creates a unique backdrop where every character's complexity adds layers to the plot. What stood out most to me was the morally grey nature of the characters, especially the strong female lead wielding fire and the layered pirate male lead. Their interactions, sprinkled with witty banter and slow-burning romance, deepen the narrative beyond just adventure. The themes of enemies to lovers and star-crossed relationships bring depth and tension that kept me eagerly turning pages. Emiliaโ€™s world-building shines through vivid descriptions of the sea and mermaid myths, immersing readers in a lush, fantastical environment. Watching Esmyra and Kaelypso's bond grow highlighted powerful themes of healing and friendship, adding emotional richness. The story does not shy away from feminine rage and vulnerability, making the characters feel authentic and relatable. The betrayals and twists were genuinely shocking, speaking to the authorโ€™s skill in crafting suspense without losing the heartfelt core of the story. The layered character development allows you to root for each individual despite their flaws, creating a deeply personal reading experience. For anyone who appreciates a blend of fantasy, romance, and emotional storytelling with a dash of pirate adventure, this book delivers spectacularly. I found myself reflecting on the characters long after finishing, a sign of a truly impactful read. As a fan of slow-burn enemies to lovers plots and richly drawn fantasy worlds, this book hit all the right notes and left me eager for the next installment.

This book is absolutely amazing. Maya Angelouโ€™s early life was truly one worth writing about. She eloquently writes of the duality of women and the lives our grandmothers were forced to live. Having a child at 17, receiving the assistance of her mother and shortly after taking full custody. May
