The University of Agriculture, the Walled Campus, officially held the opening ceremony of the "2026 Thip Pink Festival" on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Wattana Road, in front of the Demonstration School of the University of Agriculture, the Walled Campus, the Educational Research and Development Center, with the honor of Dr. Ank Sri Rama, acting president of the University of Agriculture, was the opening speaker, with the executive and guest of honor cutting the opening ribbon, amid the bustling and spectacular atmosphere of the blooming pink tree. Inside the opening ceremony, the co-host received a splendid pantomime display from the students of the Demonstration School of the University of Agriculture, the Walls Campus, and heard the story and ideas of planting the pink tree from Mr. Manij Sukwong, who planted and maintained it, as well as assistant professor Thiranatha Gal, the Department of Horticulture, the School of Agriculture, the Walls, and then visited the "Eucalyptus Tunnel," another important landmark of the campus, and the Agricultural Innovation Learning Center ( KU INNOVATION LEARNING CENTER) Ready to take a photo as a memorial.

The purpose of this event is to preserve Thai cultural heritage and spread the beauty of the university's pink tree, which was listed as "the heritage of the land" by the Department of Cultural Promotion in 2019, where the idea of planting a pink tree in the Walls campus was started in 1977 by Professor Honor Dr. Wattana Stadawi, the first Vice-Chancellor of the Walled Campus, whose policy of planting large trees is windproof and shady in the future, was given the seeds of Professor Ra Phi Sakorn, the then President of the University of Agriculture, who brought the seeds from Singapore. Today, the Walled Campus has 1,258 clairvoyant pink trees scattered in many key areas, such as

• 580 trees on Wattana Road (1st Street)

• 100 years of garden area of 77 trees

• 80 Lent Memorial Garden with 12 trees

• Piru Pool of 98 trees

• Area in front of the Prong Park of 90 trees

• Pond 6 area of 165 trees

• 6 pond edge dirt road to personnel accommodation area of 236 trees
