🩺 Doctor Extern
- Senior year medical student (still studying)
- Working in a real hospital. There's a patient, out patient, on night duty.
- Not a full doctor. There'll be a nanny.
- Not paid a salary yet.

🩺 Intern doctor.
- It's a graduate doctor. It's called "Doctor Intern."
- Work as a full doctor. There's an on-and-off examination. Night duty.
- There's a doctor who's been working because of his first year.
- There are loops along different wards each month to learn to work.
- Has a professional certificate. Receives both salary and carpool.

จากประสบการณ์จริงของผมที่ได้ผ่านช่วง Intern มา รู้สึกว่าการเป็นแพทย์ Intern นั้นคือก้าวสำคัญสู่การเป็นหมอเต็มตัว เพราะเราจะได้ลงมือดูแลคนไข้จริงๆ มีความรับผิดชอบมากขึ้น และได้รับการดูแลจากอาจารย์แพทย์ที่ช่วยให้เราเรียนรู้และพัฒนาตัวเองอย่างต่อเนื่อง อีกทั้งการได้มีใบประกอบวิชาชีพก็ทำให้รู้สึกมีความมั่นใจในการทำงานและสามารถทำหน้าที่ได้อย่างเต็มที่ ส่วนแพทย์ Extern นั้น เป็นช่วงที่ยังเรียนอยู่ในปีสุดท้าย เป็นการฝึกงานจริงในโรงพยาบาล ช่วยให้เราเตรียมตัวก่อนเป็นหมอจริง โดยมีแพทย์พี่เลี้ยงคอยดูแล ทำให้เราได้เข้าใจระบบการทำงานในโรงพยาบาล และสร้างประสบการณ์ในการตรวจคนไข้ รวมถึงการดูแลคนไข้ในเวรกลางคืน แม้จะยังไม่ได้รับเงินเดือน แต่ประสบการณ์ตรงนี้มีค่ามากสำหรับน้องๆที่อยากเป็นหมอ ทั้งนี้การรู้ความแตกต่างระหว่าง Extern และ Intern จะช่วยให้เราวางแผนการเรียนและเตรียมตัวได้ดีขึ้น เพราะการฝึกงานทั้งสองช่วงนี้ไม่ได้แค่เรื่องการเรียนรู้เท่านั้น แต่ยังเกี่ยวข้องกับการปรับตัวและพัฒนาทักษะทางคลินิกและการสื่อสารกับผู้ป่วยด้วยอย่างจริงจัง ซึ่งเป็นพื้นฐานสำคัญสำหรับการเป็นแพทย์ที่ดีในอนาคต
