Old vs New artist persona redraw! 💜

Hey everyone! Seeing my artist persona evolve from its “old version of my artist persona (July 2023)” to “the redesign (Jan 2025)” has been such a fulfilling experience. It got me thinking about why an artist persona is so important, and how you can create or update your own! So, whats a persona in art, anyway? For me, an artist persona is a visual representation of yourself as an artist, or a character embodying your brand or art style. It’s more than just a logo; it's a character reflecting your personality, artistic journey, and core themes. It helps your audience connect, making your art more memorable and recognizable. Think of it as your artistic avatar! As artists, we’re constantly growing. Our persona art style naturally evolves. That’s why updating your artist persona, like I did with my digital art redraw, can be incredibly beneficial. My old version of my artist persona from July 2023 felt right then, but as my skills improved and creative vision shifted, it was time for a refresh. The redesign in Jan 2025 truly captures where I am now – a visual diary of my progress! What imagery do they respond to? How can your persona make your brand more approachable or distinctive? Brainstorm Elements: Experiment! Sketch different hairstyles, outfits, accessories. For my digital art persona, I explored various outfits that felt both comfortable and unique. Color Palette Matters: Colors evoke feelings. Choose a palette that complements your art style and represents your persona's personality. My redesign used colors that felt more vibrant and dynamic, reflecting my current artistic energy.
