It's so much fun to imagine what other creatures could join our Animal Crossing islands! I've always loved dinosaurs, and the idea of bringing them into the cozy world of ACNH as unique villagers sparked my creativity. When I see the fossils in the museum or even items like the throwback dino screen ACNH in Nook's Cranny, it makes me think about how amazing it would be to have actual dinosaur residents! My first concept was the Pachycephalosaurus ACNH character. I envisioned him with his distinctive brown domed head, but softened for the Animal Crossing style. Giving him a beige body and a comfy purple plaid shirt felt just right for a villager who might be a bit academic, maybe a smug or cranky type, always sharing fun facts about rocks! I pictured his house filled with scientific items and perhaps a small rock garden outside. The sparkling pink background in my art just adds to the whimsical vibe! Then came my Centrosaurus design. I loved playing with the idea of his single horn and frill. Making him blue with a cool black jacket seemed perfect for a jock or even a slightly rebellious villager. Maybe he loves working out or has a hidden talent for music! I could totally see him living in a modern, industrial-themed house on my island. The Kentrosaurus was a blast to design with her purple body and those striking yellow spikes. I gave her a sweet white shirt with blue flowers, making her look like a peppy or normal type who loves gardening. Imagine her tending to a patch of hybrid flowers or strolling through an orchard! Her home would definitely be bursting with floral patterns and natural wood furniture. Finally, the Protoceratops character, with her brown and beige tones and a large frill, got a cute pink shirt. She feels like a gentle, normal, or lazy villager who loves to read or just relax by the river. Perhaps she’s always got a cozy blanket nearby or is enjoying a picnic lunch outside her quaint, rustic home. These designs were so much fun to create, capturing the essence of each dinosaur while fitting them into the adorable Animal Crossing aesthetic. While we might not have actual dinosaur villagers in the game, these concepts show how much potential there is for expanding the ACNH world. It also makes me think about how cool it would be to decorate my island with a full-blown dinosaur theme. Imagine setting up a mini-museum area with the actual fossils, then adding a throwback dino screen ACNH to create a prehistoric backdrop, and even crafting custom designs inspired by these very dino characters to place around! It’s all about bringing that love for dinosaurs into every corner of our virtual homes.
