When your step count looks like this… 😅
I’m not gonna lie, I felt pretty guilty looking at my step count yesterday.
My goal is 8,000 steps a day, but I only managed 2,347 steps. Between working a desk job all day, having very little room to walk around the office, and trying to squeeze life into the tiny gaps between meetings and emails, the day got away from me.
To make things even harder, it was rainy, windy, and gross outside, so my usual “just go for a quick walk” plan wasn’t happening. It was also a rest day from the gym, which meant I wasn’t getting extra movement there either.
The frustrating part? I don’t feel like I sat completely still all day. Sometimes I swear my Apple Watch misses steps, especially when I’m carrying things, pushing a cart, typing, or walking without my arm swinging much. Technology: capable of putting robots on Mars, still confused when a human walks to the printer.
Trying to remind myself that one low-step day doesn’t erase weeks of progress. Consistency matters more than perfection.
