✨ Real life update from a girl trying to lose weight ✨

Last night’s dinner was a homemade teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice and veggies, and honestly… it turned out pretty darn good. 🍚🥦🍗

Meal prep has been helping me stay on track because when healthy food is already made, I’m much less likely to stare into the fridge like it’s going to magically produce a pizza. Human behavior remains fascinating.

I also got my new walking pad set up! 🏃‍♀️ It took a little assembling, but I got in a light walk afterward. I didn’t quite hit my step goal, but I got close, and that’s still progress. One missed goal doesn’t erase all the work that came before it.

The not-so-perfect part: after dinner I had a snack that wasn’t in my meal plan. I immediately felt guilty about it and went to bed thinking about it way more than I should have.

This morning I woke up feeling bloated, which was a good reminder that sometimes those impulse snacks just aren’t worth how they make me feel afterward. Lesson learned. No need to punish myself, no need to quit, just information for next time.

Today’s focus:

✔️ Drink my water

✔️ Get some steps in on the walking pad

✔️ Stick to my meal plan

✔️ Move forward instead of dwelling on one choice

Progress isn’t made by being perfect. It’s made by showing up again the next day. 💛

When you have balanced meals like homemade teriyaki chicken bowls with brown rice and veggies ready to go, temptations shrink significantly. It’s interesting how our brains often look for an easy fix, like craving something quick and unhealthy when hunger strikes suddenly. Setting up and regularly using a walking pad has been a game changer too. It’s convenient, especially on days when heading outside isn’t possible. Even short walks help maintain momentum. Approaching goals with gentle persistence, like recognizing that missing a step target once doesn’t erase earlier progress, helps sustain motivation. I also learned a lot from moments of imperfection. Snacking outside the meal plan can trigger guilt, but it’s important to treat these moments as information rather than failure. For example, waking up bloated after an unplanned snack was a tangible reminder about how my choices affect my body. Rather than punishing myself, I focused on moving forward with more awareness. Hydration has been another critical chunk of my daily focus. Drinking enough water helps reduce bloating and keeps energy levels stable, which supports both physical activity and overall mood. If you’re on a similar weight loss path, I recommend combining structured meal prep with small, manageable exercise routines like walking pads, and most importantly, cultivating a mindset that values progress over absolute perfection. Every day is a fresh chance to show up, learn from what happened before, and keep pushing toward your goals.
