Yesterday, I kicked some absolute ass.
✅ Hit my step goal (8,585 steps)
✅ Completed 39 minutes of walking
✅ Stayed within my calorie goal
✅ Got my protein in
✅ Stuck to my plan even when it would’ve been easier not to
I went to bed feeling proud because for once I wasn’t focused on being perfect. I was focused on showing up, and I did exactly that.
Now for the honest part…
This morning I woke up feeling SUPER bloated and dealing with some digestion issues. When I stepped on the scale, I was up 2 pounds from yesterday. Old me would have spiraled. Current me knows better.
A 2-pound jump overnight isn’t fat gain. Bodies hold water, digestion gets weird, hormones do whatever chaotic thing hormones feel like doing, and sometimes the scale just likes to test our patience.
So instead of stressing, today’s plan is simple:
💚 Eat as clean as I can
💚 Stay hydrated
💚 Keep moving
💚 Give my digestion some time to catch up
💚 Stay consistent
One weigh-in doesn’t erase a good day. Yesterday still counts. The work still counts. The habits still count.
Progress isn’t about being perfect every day. It’s about stacking enough good days together that the setbacks stop feeling like setbacks.
Today we keep going. 💪✨

Having a consistent fitness and weight loss routine is incredibly empowering, yet it comes with its challenges, as I've experienced firsthand. When I managed to complete 8,585 steps along with 39 minutes of walking, stick to my calorie and protein goals, and follow my plan even when it was tough, I truly felt a sense of accomplishment and pride. However, waking up the next day feeling bloated and seeing a 2-pound weight increase on the scale reminded me how natural fluctuations can be frustrating. From my experience, understanding that such weight changes are often due to water retention, digestion irregularities, or hormonal shifts helps keep perspective. It’s important not to judge progress by a single weigh-in but by consistent habits and effort over time. To manage bloating and digestion issues, I focus on clean eating and hydration, which promotes better digestion and reduces discomfort. Staying active with light movement throughout the day also aids in this process. What I’ve found most helpful personally is shifting my mindset from seeking perfection to showing up every day. Celebrating small victories to build momentum makes setbacks seem less daunting. Tracking my meals, like the ham, spinach, and cheese bagel breakfast with 420 calories, helps me stay within my goals without feeling deprived. Logging daily progress with realistic goals keeps me accountable while allowing flexibility. Consistency and patience are key. Over time, stacking good days together transforms the weight loss journey from a series of stressful moments into sustainable habits that foster long-term well-being. For anyone else navigating similar challenges, remember: your body is complex, and progress comes from commitment, not perfection. Keep moving, eating mindfully, stay hydrated, and listen to your body’s signals—you’ll thank yourself later.
