Before my injury, I often took my healthy body for granted, never imagining how much strength and stability come from muscles like those in the ankle and calf. Now, after 4 weeks of focused rehab, I can feel how weak those muscles have become — even something as simple as a calf raise shakes my leg. One of the biggest challenges has been relearning proper movement patterns and patience in the process. Running injuries are frustrating because they limit the freedom you once had, but they also teach you to listen to your body. Physical therapy exercises are designed not only to rebuild strength but also to improve balance and prevent future injuries. Incorporating targeted stretches and strengthening routines daily has helped me see gradual improvement. Another important lesson is the mental side of recovery. Staying motivated when progress feels slow is tough, but celebrating small wins, like increased stability or reduced pain, keeps the momentum going. Sharing experiences on platforms like TikTok and connecting with others facing similar running injury rehab journeys has provided encouragement and practical tips. Overall, this experience has deepened my appreciation for a healthy, active body. I’m committed to continuing my recovery and can’t wait to run again stronger and more mindful than before.
