Hard maple hollow form. Looks like pottery.
This hollow form is made from hard maple dyed with black Keda dye. After dying, it got a spray coat of lacquer to seal the dye, then a couple brushed coats. I’ll admit, it’s not the best lacquer finish, but I like the initial results.
The unusual shape of the top is natural. Not carved. The shape comes from how it was positioned of the lathe chuck.
